The Steppahs
biographyThe Steppahs are Tay and Tamasine - Manchesters number one dubstep duo. Holding residencies at Metropolis and Hit & Run, the pair have been performing their explosive sets all over the UK. They have played at Ministry of Sound and The Warehouse Project to name a few, alongside artists like Skream, Benga, Hatcha, N Type, Virus Syndicate, Chase & Status and Jakes. Recently featured in ATM Magazine, they were interviewed in The Leaders of the New School section and their set at Metropolis 'Ten years of Valve' at The Warehouse Project was given an impressive review by Mark OD. Tay and Tamasine have been djing since 2002, separately to begin with playing their first loves of drum n bass and hip hop. Whilst on one of their many nights out they discovered their love of the dub and The Steppahs were born. They haven't looked back and have proved they know what it takes to work a crowd. Since they came together in 2008 The Steppahs have been working hard pushing their favourite sounds to the massive. They have a slot on www.radiofrequency fm.co.uk - Leeds number one radio station for underground music, where you can hear the biggest dubs and new releases. Confirming these ladies are the ones to watch. The Steppahs have just completed their fifth studio mix - Mixedupinnit, which you can download along with their previous releases on www.getdarker.com. With producers such as Skream, Zed Bias, Headhunter, MRK1, Joker and Jakes sending them fresh dubs their sets and mixes are always guaranteed to be upfront and fresh. Currently progressing in production they have had positive feedback from fellow artists in the scene and are hoping to release material this year. |
