biography

Manifest aka Damone Edwards has been making beats for nearly 10 years. His first experience of producing music was in November of 1996, when he booked a studio session at Vauxhall based T.O.V. Music.

At this time, he had no prior knowledge of the studio and sought advice from a duo that were making tracks for T.O.V. and Renegade Hardware, known as Future Forces [D-Bridge and Maldini - BC Recordings]. After being a regular at the T.O.V. Studios, Future Forces along with Genotype, helped engineer Manifest´s first ever tracks and gave him valuable tuition in making beats. First release was in June of 1997 on the Hardleaders Compilation LP, ‘The Way out Chapter’, which he engineered himself.

In late November ‘97, Manifest released his first 12" on the Hardleaders imprint. He continued to release tracks on Hardleaders and also produced an exclusive track entitled ‘Conflict’ for Renegade Hardware´s infamous ‘Quantum Mechanics’ CD, mixed by Future Forces.

In 1999 he graduated to Moving Shadow´s sister label, Audio Couture. 2000 saw him release a 12" with Renegade Recordings, In autumn 2001 Manifest returned on DJ Ink´s label: Architecture Recordings, part a four track E.P. featuring Manifest, Ink, Dylan and Loxy. First release in 2002 was the first release on his own new label: Deception called ‘Never 2 Far’ and ‘5 Boros’.

In 2002 Manifest contributed to Hardleader´s Fire compilation, Ray Keith´s Dread Imprint under his other alias Outerlimits Ft. Damone and he also released his Infamous ‘Dub War Pt1’ on Deception which was a favourite with DJ´s in the scene and put the label on the map.

2003 he took time out to build his studio and to craft his new sound. By the end of 2003 he crated that sound which was ‘OG returns’ which was picked up by Renegade Hardware for ‘Skool of Hardknocks’ LP, released in March 2004. He teamed up with Keaton for another project and the result was ‘I don´t give a Fuck’. The track featured on the ‘Raw & Real EP’ on Renegade Hardware February 2005. Remix duties for Supply & Demand´s ‘Live It Up’ on TOV in November 2004. By July Manifest was asked to mix series 2 of the Future Beats compilation which showcased the Hardware, Barcode labels.

Once the future beats Cd hit the streets he was a travelling up and down the UK playing at various venues as well Hardware´s Infamous night at The End Club & Technology @ Brixton Mass. 2006 was a bizzy year Djing doing various guest shows on Kool Fm (London´s Leading DnB station), Playing across the UK, Europe & abroad. By August his Infamous ‘So Sick / Fuck Em Up’ 12" on Renegade Hardware hit the shops which was a favourite with many Dj´s and both tracks reappearing on Future Beats & Fear No Evil compilations also released in 2006.

2007 was a bizzy year with a Podcast for Drum N Bass Arena featuring Stapleton Mc (Hardware, Hospital & Therapy), his mix for Knowledge magazine which was a free with the magazine and featured MC 2Shy, and also remix duties for The Factory, an Outfit which consist of Pete Tong (Radio 1), Paul Harris & Jay-P. Forthcoming on the Toolroom Records in April 07. The track was originally an Electro House track and on the remix he shows a different side to his production with an intro which is twisted with a leftfield Electro edge to it. With many Dj´s in Drum N Bass giving the approval. Manifest also had various bookings at Various Renegade Hardware nights at The End Club, Autopsy in Brighton, Valve Vs Hardware, and two different club nights in Berlin and Stuttgart. Kool FM, Origin FM.

2008 has started with a new online Podcast called ‘End Of Dayz Vol:1’ which has appeared on various forums and websites like Drum N Bass Arena, Dogs On Acid, DnB Forum, Don´t Stay In and others through out the world. Release in April with track ‘Blueprint’ with Verb forthcoming on Climate Sounds Records and the return of his label Deception Recordings and many other releases scheduled for the year which will feature the artist manifest, Verb, Btk and remixes from established artists in the scene. 1st release to re- launch the label is ‘G-Men’ which is a collaboration with manifest which is currently getting support getting a very good feedback by Dj´s like: Andy C, Dj Zinc (who played it on his special mix for Radio 1, Grooverider´s Show in October), Friction, D- Bridge, Vicious Circle, Concord Dawn, Jamal, Chris Inperspective, Empress [USA], Cabbie, Double-O, Verb [Kool Fm], manifest & Manifest [Also featured on his Drum and Bass Arena Podcast March 2007]. The feedback keeps growing each week with more dj´s making the track part of there dj sets.
