DJ Blazin

biography

Blazin was introduced to Jungle in 1995, and was instantly hooked to the fast beats and heavy bass lines. In 1998 he started mixing after moving to Cambridge where he was heavily influenced by listening to tape packs, and inspired by witnessing the likes of Andy C, Randall & Swift, performing at raves such as Warning and One Nation.

In 2000, Blazin moved to the South West where he got his first booking at an event called Life, in the 1500 capacity Dance Academy, Plymouth. It wasn't long before he was a regular at events across the UK, including Legends of the Dark Black, the South Coast's premier drum and bass event.

Always ahead of the game, Blazin took his mixing skills to the next level, by adding a third deck in 2003, almost 2 years before any of the top DJ's in the scene were advertised playing out on 3 decks. Following on from this, he entered the Liquid Funk DJ competition in 2004, where he demonstrated his versatility to become one of the top ten runners up, ahead of well over 500 people worldwide. "An original 3 deck mix with a great selection of tearing tunes" - Liquid Funk. Later that year, Blazin entered the Twister DJ competition, where he made it through the knock out stages to go on and win the final in London, judged by top DJ agents, artists and producers from the scene.

With this competition win under his belt, bookings abroad and sets alongside the biggest names in the business, Blazin soon proved that his unique style of lightning fast, 3 deck mixing can rival any world class DJ; his selection of tracks from different styles across the board destroys any dance floor, and his adaptability means he can perform at any type of drum and bass event.

After being invited to join the Random Concept Academy, which showcases the best new artists the drum and bass scene has to offer at some of the biggest venues across the UK and being given a residency at Warning, arguably the longest running drum and bass event in the world, 2008 looks set to be a big year for Blazin!
