Way back in 1997, a young DJ Blazey was becoming frustrated with the Bristol Drum & Bass scene. Notoriously hard to break into, Blazey, despite obvious skills on the decks, found it increasingly difficult to find opportunities to play out in the already oversaturated Bristol scene.

It was around this time that Blazey, by way of a Mike "Ruffcutt" Loyd mixtape, was introduced to the harder 2step/4x4 side of Garage.

Instantly hooked, Blazey didn't waste any time and his first garage set at a friend's birthday bash led to bookings all over Bristol.

Always known for playing the darker, harder side of Garage, the transition from Garage to Grime was a natural progression for Blazey.

Sticking to his guns and representing the new Grime sound while other Garage DJs around him clinged to their last few bookings by playing tried, tested and worn out old skool anthems to increasingly smaller audiences, Blazey braved the final days of Garage's brief fling with the mainstream music industry with residencies in Bristol and Cardiff at "Total Garage".

It was through this event that Blazey met most of the big names of the Garage and Grime scenes, gathering those important dubplate contacts along the way, ensuring Blazey always has a big bag of the freshest dubs out there whenever he takes to the decks.

Always on the lookout for an opportunity to smash up a new dance, Blazey, noting the obvious similarities in the two genres, teamed up with a local Dubstep promoter in Bristol and together they devised the legendary "Subloaded". One of the first events outside of London event combining Grime and Dubstep and right from the first event, Subloaded was a massive success.

Subloaded cemented Blazey's position as Bristol's number one grime DJ and the crossover Dubstep appeal brought Blazey's grimey selection to a whole new and always grateful audience.

Now in 2009 with more Raves under his belt than most veterans of the scene and having become a member of the Legendary H.E.N.C.H. crew, Blazey is more ready than ever to tear down a rave near you.
